Validating Your Data

You should spend some time validating your data before you print it or create an Invoice from it. From the "Tools" menu, select the "Validate" option (Quick Key Press CTRL+Z) or click on the Validate button on the Main Toolbar.

Spell Check

Use the Spell Check button to check the spelling of your appliance descriptions. See Also - Spell Checking Your Tests

Validate

Use the Validate button to check that there is no important missing data.

The "Validate" option from the "Tools" menu will check the following things:
Missing Appliance Descriptions, missing Appliance Id's, Zero Retest Periods, Missing Fail Reasons on Failed tests and No Charge Codes entered.

You can decide whether the Validate option always checks for Zero Retest Periods and No Charge Codes by using the "System Settings" screen and clearing or checking the tick boxes "On Test Validation Check For:" See Also - System Settings

Find Duplicates

Use this button to list any appliances id's that exist more than once in your data. See Also Find Duplicates

Failed Appliances

Make sure that any appliances failed by the PAT have a Fail Reason typed against them.

The "Tools" menu on the Main screen has a "Summary of Tests" option which will show you information about your data file. This may help you to check your file before printing it, or creating an Invoice. See Also - Summary of Tests
