RCD and Microwave Tests Entry Screen

You can Manually Enter Test results for Microwave Oven Leakage or RCD trip times by clicking the right mouse button on an appliance in the Main SimplyPats screen and selecting the RCD and Microwave option from the drop down menu. (See Right Mouse Button Menus)

You can enter data for both Microwave and RCD tests on this screen. (It would be unusual to enter both RCD and Microwave data on the same appliance!)

0 and 180 Phases

If you want to enter trip times for both 0 and 180 phases, you need to enable the 180 phase input box. To do this go to the System Settings Screen and tick the Enable 180 Phase RCD Entry tick box.

Entering Microwave Results

The Microwave Leakage is measured in mW per cm2 at a distance of 5 cm from the seal of the Microwave oven. The current limit is that any leakage should not exceed 5 mw/cm2.

Entering RCD's Results In The UK

The RCD trip time should be less than 300 milli seconds for RCD's to BS EN 61008 and less than 200 milli seconds for RCD's to BS 4293 both at 30 mA Ouput.

Use the Limit and output drop down boxes to ensure you have selected the correct settings. By default the screen will show 300 ms at 30 mA.

Entering Type I and Type II RCD's In Australia and New Zealand

The Type II RCD trip time and output is similar to the BS EN 61008 in the UK, i.e. less than 300 ms at 30 mA output. The Type I RCD is less than 40 ms trip time at 10 mA output. Use the Limit and output drop down boxes to ensure you have selected the correct settings for the type of RCD you are entering the data for.

If you want to enter trip times for both 0 and 180 phases, you need to enable the 180 phase input box. To do this go to the System Settings Screen and tick the Enable 180 Phase RCD Entry tick box.

Deleting a Microwave or RCD Result

If you accidentally add a Microwave or RCD test on an appliance and wish to delete it, simply click on the Clear Buttons and the results and status fields will be cleared. Click the Ok button to save your changes.

Alternatively you can enter 0 in the result field and set the Status to Skip, then click the OK button. Your Microwave and/or RCD tests will be removed.

Editing a Microwave or RCD Result

If you right mouse click on an appliance that you have already entered RCD or Microwave data for, the RCD and Microwaves screen will be NOT be populated with the existing results. Simply re-enter the data to make changes.

(The reason that you cannot edit the existing data is due to the where the RCD information comes from as it may have been downloaded from a PAT tester, added to a manual entered test or appended to a standard electrical test downloaded from a PAT tester.)

Ok

Adds the Microwave Leakage or RCD Trip time tests to your appliance.

Auto

Clicking on this button will automatically check the test result against the test limit for each test and decide whether the status should be a Pass, Fail or Skip.
