Q) Can I invoice to an address which isn't the testing address?
A) Yes! New in SimplyPats Version 5 you can modify an Invoicee address and print the invoice with that address.

Q) Can I add my company logo to my system settings and print them on my invoices?
A) Yes, this is possible. To find out how, click here.

Q) Can SimplyPats upload to the OmegaPat, BetaPat or AlphaPat tester?
A) No you can't. This is a restriction of these Pat Test machines, however, Metrel's newer BetaPat Plus and OmegaPat Plus can be uploaded to.

Q) Can I download my PAT Tester to my PDA or Smart Phone
A) Yes, there is a version of SimplyPats which will allow you to download to your Pocket PC PDA or Smart Phone (running Windows Pocket PC Windows Mobile 2003 (tm) or above) If you are interested in this poduct please contact RSR Systems Ltd.

Q) I don't like a particular Printed Report, is it possible to change the layout?
A) Yes, although this is done by ourselves providing you with a custom report file for the particular report you wish to change. We charge for this service although it is a nominal fee - usually £20 but dependant on the complexity of the report asked for.

Q) Can SimplyPats download in any other formats?
A) Yes SimplyPats accepts data downloaded in SSS format, as used by Seawards Supernova and Europa PAT testers as well as Metrel+ format used by the Metrel OmegaPAT, it can also download in the Seaward 2000i, Fluke 6500 and Megger PAT4 formats.

Q) Can I print a certificate to give to my customer?
A) Yes! SimplyPats can print a certificate

Q) Will you change features of SimplyPats if I have specific requirements?
A) Yes often! We will always look at any suggestions to modify SimplyPats in response to customers requirements. If it is a large programming change and not for use by all customers we would quote for the work. Small changes requested by customers have often been implemented after they have contacted us with suggestions.

Q) Can I print out a list of my abbreviations to take on site while I test?
A) Yes! SimplyPats can print out your abbreviations.

Q) Can I view my data in a spreadsheet or database?
A) Yes! In SimplyPats you can save your data as a spreadsheet or database compatible file. This is known as CSV. You can also export your data in HTML, Adobe PDF and Microsoft Word (Rich Text Format), Excel and Plain Text formats. New to Version 5 you can export your reports as image files (tif). Because of the limitations of some of the programs that read these formats, company logo images won't be placed as they are seen on the print preview screen.

Q) Is there a view program I can give to my customers so they can view the data files on their own computer?
A) Yes - In Version 5 of SimplyPats, your customers can download SimplyPats from our web site. They can then view files that you have created. Of course unless they purchase the program they will not be able to download a PAT tester into it.

Q) is there a way I can schedule jobs for my customers?
A) Currently No! Although we are currently looking at making an additional product available where you can schedule jobs and engineers for particular days. Please contact us if you are interested in this as we will be looking for Beta testers nearer the time of realease.

Q) Can I manually add test results or change the data downloaded from the tester?
A) Yes! You can can add a visual only test result for either class I or class II at 230V and class I or class II at 115V. Recently added to SimplyPats is the ability to manually enter a test result if you are transcribing them from a PAT Tester that doesn't have the ability to download.

Q) Can SimplyPats download clamp current tests from the Metrel AlphaPat?
A) Yes - New to Version 5 you can download and display Clamp Test Results from the Metrel AlphaPat

Q) Can I have more than 9500 tests in a single file?
A) Yes! SimplyPats was limited to 9500 tests in a single customer file, however with SimpyPats Version 5.1.2 and above the limit has been extended to 20,000 tests. SimplyPats was originally designed for the small to medium customer, and particular the electrical contractor who wants to quickly download and print data from a PAT tester, without having to learn a complex computer program.

Q) Do I have to pay an Annual support fee?
A) NO! In January 2007 we decided to offer FREE support, via the Phone, Email or on the Web forum. Unless volume of support calls increases significantly we have no plans to reintroduce an Annual Support fee.

Q) What minor upgrades are available?
A) SimplyPats is constantly monitored for possible additions and bug fixes. All such modifications are freely available on the internet at www.simplypats.co.uk You can also find additional information at our web forum: www.simplypats.net

From time to time the technical specifications of the PAT testers change in response to HSE or IEE recommendations and guidelines or with the manufacturers development process. On occasion this requires us to modify our code to support the changes to the PATs. We endeavor to respond to such changes as quickly as possible, program updates are made available on our web site www.simplypats.co.uk

Q) Can you tell me how to use my tester?
A) No! But we will endeavor to help you where possible, although we are not electrical engineer's or portable appliance testers. RSR Systems Ltd can only help you using the SimplyPats program. Your electrical distributor where you bought your tester may be able to offer technical support.
