Set Baud Rate On Beta and Omega Pats

From the Main Menu of the BetaPat or OmegaPat use the arrows keys to select RECALL/DELETE/SEND MEMORY

Press the Enter Key on the PAT to select it.

From the SEARCH MEMORY screen you can select which appliances you want to download. For example all those of a particular site or location, or between one date and another.

Once you have selected the appliances you want to download, click on the FIND button (F1)



The Beta or Omega Pat will search through all your records.

You are shown a list of the appliances found where you can SEND either an individual test or all the tests found. You will usually want to press the SENDall button (F4)

On the SEND RESULTS screen you can see what the BAUD RATE and SEND FORMAT your Beta Pat or Omega Pat is set to. You must make sure the send format is set to METREL+ The Baud Rate must be set the same on your PAT tester as it is in your SimplyPats Program.

To change the BAUD RATE press the BAUD button (F1)

On the SET BAUD RATE screen use the arrow keys to chose the Baud Rate you want and press the Enter key to select it. Remember that you will have to set the same Baud Rate in the SimplyPats program.

Again you will return to the SEND RESULTS screen.

To change the Send Format press the FORMAT button (F5)



User the arrow keys to select METREL+ and then press the ENTER key to select it. Again you you will return to the SEND RESULTS screen. Where you can now continue to download the test results.

To set up SimplyPats ready for downloading, follow the steps below.

From the Settings Menu select the System Setting option.

In the System Settings screen, select Metrel - Omega / Beta Pat as the Pat Tester. Next, select the Baud Rate - this should be the same that you selected on the Metrel Beta Pat or Omega Pat. You may also want to decide on what you want to do with the 4 fields notes fields that are downloaded.

You can choose to use the Appliance Description, Retest Period, Charge Codes and Fail Reason (Comments) Fields.

Remember - if you have trouble communicating between SimplyPats and your PAT tester, make sure you Baud Rate and Send Format is set on the PAT Tester, and that the Baud Rate is the same as set on the SimplyPats program.

Use the arrow keys to Select PC and then press the Enter key.

You will now see the Connection Screen.

To start the Beta / Omega Pat downloading you need to to click on the download button on SimplyPats.

You will then see the download screen as it starts communicating with the PAT

TIP: Its a good idea to start the download on SimplyPats before you start the download sequence on the PAT Tester. SimplyPats will wait until downloading starts, or until you click on the Cancel button on the SimplyPats download screen. If you start the download on the PAT and don't start the download from the PAT Tester quick enough then you will see a connection error as the PAT will only try and send data for a short period of time before giving up.
