The Download Cables

The Diagrams below show you how to wire the download cable for use with your PAT Tester.
All the Fluke and
and Seaward testers that we have experienced seem to use a twisted pair standard
serial cable.
The Metrel and Transmille Pat test machines all seem to use a straight through
cable, what is sometimes referred to as an RS232 extension lead.
The Megger PAT4 has it's own proprietary cable which is unique.
NOTE! You should only use the supplied serial cable to connect your PAT
Tester to your PC, the serial cable supplied with the PAT Tester differs from
most normal serial cables available in your local computer store. YOU MAY
CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR PAT TESTER OR COMPUTER, IF YOU USE THE WRONG SERIAL CABLE!
The tables show the wiring of the PINs in a 9pin to 9pin cable. Male end connecting to the PAT and Female end connecting to the PC.
