Find Appliance / Find Next Fail

Find Appliance

Click on the "Find Appliance" icon or go to the "Records" menu and choose "Find Appliance" (Quick Key Press CTRL + F)

You will now see the Find in Grid screen, shown below. From here you can type in an appliance name or part of an appliance name to find. The find will also search the Appliance Id column if you wish to search for an Appliance Id.

Finding Numeric and Part Numeric Apliance Id's

If you are using the find screen to find numeric appliance id's in the main screen, sorting the data by appliance id alphabetic provides better searching for numeric or part numeric appliance id's. See Also Right Mouse Button Menus


Find First

If you type in COMPUTER in the Find box, and put a tick in the "Match Whole Word" box, then click on "Find First", SimplyPats will display the first record that it finds the word COMPUTER in.

(Pressing Enter on the Keyboard after you type the text to find will also perform the Find First function)

Find Next

Press "Find Next" to find the next occurence of a record with COMPUTER.

If you type in the letters Co in the Find box and Un-tick the "Match Whole Word" box, SimplyPats will find and display all records starting with the letters Co. For Instance Cooker, Coffee Maker, Computer etc

Cancel

Closes the Find screen.

(Pressing Escape (ESC) on the keyboard will also close this screen)

 

Find Next Fail

Click on the "Find Next Fail" icon or go to the "Records" Menu and choose "Find Next Fail".

SimplyPats will now display the next record with a fail in it. See Also Other related topics such as Sorting And Grouping and Moving to Records

Finding An Appliance Within ALL your SimplyPats Data Files

If you want to find an appliance (or appliances) within any of your SimplyPats data files, go to the "Tools" menu and choose "Find Appliance Globally" This screen will allow you to search all your data files for a specific appliance id, or a match of the Appliance Description and also within a specified date range.
