Using The Notes Fields

Dependant on what PAT tester you are using, you may have the option to assign what you want to use the Notes fields or User Code field on your PAT tester for use in SimplyPats. Below is an example of a Europa Plus pat tester.

CONSITENCY!

It is imperative that what ever you decide to use your notes fields for that you remain consistent when entering data into your PAT tester. For example, if you decide to use the first notes field for retest period, you must always enter a retest period in that notes field, you cannot halfway through testing decided to use that field for Fail Reason for example.

If you dont wish to use any of the notes fields, you can set the relevant entries to [IGNORE]

Some PAT testers such as a Seaward 1000 may only have one notes field, such as the User Code Field.

You can set to use the notes field on the PAT tester to any of the following options

Notes on Acceptable Values

You must ensure that depending what you chose to use the notes field for that you enter the data in the correct format. For example if you are entering a retest period in one of the notes fields you must enter a number of months e.g. 1, 3, 6, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48, 60 or 72. If you enter "1 year" or "12 weeks" or a date SimplyPats won't recognise your entry.
